Betty Sproule has worked at Bell Laboratories, General Electric, and Hewlett-Packard. With a Ph.D. in computer science from Ohio State University and over 20 years of technology industry experience, Betty is a recognized expert in setting market strategy for high-tech products and services. She specializes in helping marketing / R&D executives and their product teams define the most effective marketing strategy for (1) new products scheduled for launch in the next 6 to 18 months and (2) established products that are not currently achieving market share and profit objectives

Betty's work has consistently focused on understanding how customers adopt and deploy new high-tech solutions. During her time at Bell Labs, she was granted a U.S. patent for research results in telecommunications switching technology.

As Director - Strategy Services at Chasm Institute, Betty Sproule provides technology companies with training workshops and proven methods for successful customer visits, target market strategy, and competitor analysis. Her clients include Intel Corporation, Computer Associates, Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, Mentor Graphics, and other multinational companies. She has conducted customer research and developed strategic business plans for a wide range of high-tech products and services including: commercial servers, personal computers, printers, Internet software, and electronic components.

Previously, Betty served on the computer science faculty at the University of Texas, where she was awarded the Amoco Prize for Outstanding Teaching.

She divides her schedule between teaching marketing strategy workshops and helping product teams develop successful "9-Point Go-to-Market" plans. She delivers the following workshops in the United States and Asia Pacific:
